What’s the difference between a regular WhatsApp bot and an AI agent?
A regular bot works from a fixed menu: press 1, press 2. An AI agent understands a free-form question and answers in natural language, based on the information you set up for it. For a business with a few fixed questions, a simple menu is sometimes enough.
Do you need the WhatsApp Business API?
For a bot to answer automatically and reliably, yes. The connection goes through Meta’s official business platform, with business verification. Unofficial tools that automate the regular WhatsApp app can get the number blocked.
What happens when the bot doesn’t know the answer?
It isn’t supposed to guess. When a question falls outside the information it was given, it collects the details and passes the inquiry to you, with an alert.
Does the bot work on the website too?
